Versus

In 2016, Rob Adams released his fourth book: Versus. It is about renewal, how to go about achieving it and how you can realize renewal with your current organisation that is mainly focused on execution. Versus is based on the many discussions Rob has had over the years with both start-ups and multinationals all over the world – from the Netherlands to Silicon Valley. It discusses the stumbling blocks that companies encounter and the roads that lead to success. It is also based on the wealth of practical experience gathered during projects for clients who gave room to experimentation and who were open to new methods and uncertainty.

The Emergence of the Urban Entrepreneur

In The Urban Entrepreneur, Boyd demonstrates how 3 converging forces: urbanization, collaboration and democratization (the Urbanpreneur Spiral) are driving a new breed of entrepreneurs in cities. The Urban Entrepreneur addresses emerging topics such as the sharing economy, civic hackers and entrepreneurs, urban makers and the on-demand economy and discuss strategies for large and small cities to attract and retain tomorrow’s urbanpreneurs.  Boyd also makes a bold, and controversial argument, that North America is losing its lead as the dominant home for entrepreneurs and innovators and the Europe is positioned to overtake the U.S. in the coming years.

“With a massive shift in the global economy toward sustainable business, new markets are emerging and cities are poised to capitalize. Climate Capitalism demonstrates how cities can succeed in the global green economy by taking advantage of the growing demand for clean, green innovation. To build a future that values people and the planet, we need to rethink how we do business—and Climate Capitalism shows how to do it.” —Gregor Robertson, Mayor of Vancouver, BC
